EU Education Programmes of the National Agency for Lifelong Learning
The European Union offers a series of subsidy programmes for general and vocational education, university cooperation, and for the increased mobility of pupils, graduates and academic staff.
More than 100 Viennese schools are involved in various EU-subsidised educational cooperation programmes (COMENIUS resp. LEONARDO). The federal province of Vienna is the Austrian province that carries out by far the most EU educational projects.
At present, the EUROPEAN OFFICE of the Vienna Board of Education is responsible for the implementation of two COMENIUS REGIO projects for the direct benefit of pupils and teachers: Stay on Track and UniARTE.
The EUROPEAN OFFICE also is responsible for following EU projects:
EdTWIN: a continuation and extension of past cross-border initiatives such as EdQ and CERNET respectively Primary Goes Europe. The present cross-border cooperation links the European Office in Vienna to institutions in Bratislava (SK), Brno (CZ), and Györ (H).
ET-struct: a CENTRAL EUROPE project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project is a continuation and extension of the past INTERREG IIIC project EdGATE. ET-struct, with 16 partners from 6 CENTRAL EUROPE Member States, aims at strengthening regional growth and stability by connecting regional education and training to regional labour markets, and policy institutions.
European Primary Village: a project that supports and encourages the European dimension in primary schooling through trans-national projects focussing on school partnerships.
The EUROPEAN OFFICE of the Vienna Board of Education was involved in the development, planning and implementation of these EU co-financed projects or was at least involved to a greater extent in their realisation.
